ICD-10 and CPT code updates for 2016

On October 1, 2015, the use of ICD-10 CM codes became mandatory for all providers to be used on all claims dated October 1 or later. Your current database of ICD-9 CM codes will not be used other than as a reference to find the right ICD-10 code but will remain in claims prior to October 1, 2015. To help with the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10, a crosswalk tool was created that will help you find the ICD-10 code that best matches the ICD-9 code formally used for the diagnosis which will help. The crosswalk is available in the Claim Create function of your practice management system. You may contact our support department for questions about the crosswalk tool.

The entire 2016 ICD-10 code sets, as provided by the CDC, have been automatically uploaded to your system for you. Therefore, there is nothing you need to do to get ICD-10 CM codes in your system this year.

If your practice wishes to update your system with the 2016 CPT codes as well, this is optional as it is every year and falls under the license agreement, we have in place with the American Medical Association (AMA). Licensing fees for codes will remain at $ 100.00 per practice. The 2016 CPT codes are available for delivery. If you choose to purchase them, they will be automatically uploaded to your system.

To order your 2016 CPT codes, please complete the form and fax it back to our office at (985) 646-1676. Per your order, your practice will see the license fee of $ 100.00 plus applicable sales tax added to your next invoice from us. In addition, you will also be provided, via the email address* you provide in your order, a receipt as notification that the 2016 CPT codes have been uploaded to your system. Make sure that the email address you supply is a valid email address, as it will be used for future communications from us when we need to provide additional information to you about your system. If you have any questions, please call our office at 800-248-4298 or via email support@duxware.com.
