ICD-10 and CPT Code Updates for 2016

On October 1, 2015, the use of ICD-10 CM codes became mandatory for all providers to be used on all claims dated October 1 or later. Your current database of ICD-9 CM codes will not be used other than as a reference to find the right ICD-10 code but will remain in claims prior to October 1, 2015. To help with the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10, a crosswalk tool was created that will help you find the ICD-10 code that best matches the ICD-9 code formally used for the diagnosis which will help. The crosswalk is available in the Claim Create function of your practice management system. You may contact our support department for questions about the crosswalk tool.

The entire 2016 ICD-10 code sets, as provided by the CDC, have been automatically uploaded to your system for you. Therefore, there is nothing you need to do to get ICD-10 CM codes in your system this year.

If your practice wishes to update your system with the 2016 CPT codes, this is optional as it is every year and falls under a new license agreement we have in place with the American Medical Association (AMA). Licensing fees for CPT codes are now calculated at $ 25.00 per user of CPT codes. According to the AMA, a user of the CPT files is one who needs CPT codes in the system in order to do any part of their job. Most likely all billing staff should be counted as a user under this license agreement. The 2016 CPT codes are available now for delivery. If you choose to purchase them, they will be automatically uploaded to your system upon receipt of this signed form.

To order your 2016 CPT codes, please fill in the blanks below and fax a signed copy of this page to our office at (985) 646-1676. Per your order, your practice will see the user license fee of $ 25.00 per user plus applicable sales tax added to your next invoice from us. In addition, you will also be provided, via the email address* you provide in your order below, a receipt as notification that the 2016 CPT codes have been uploaded to your system. Make sure that the email address you supply is a valid email address, as it will be used for future communications from us when we need to provide additional information to you about your system. If you have any questions, please call our office at 800-248-4298 or via email support@duxware.com.
