Appointment Block By Range

A user has the ability to block or unblock and appointment on the appointment scheduler; however, there are instances when a provider schedule may need a range of appointment slots blocked for lunch periods, office meetings, or vacation. To block or unblock by range, go to the Appointment tab>Schedule Setup>Block By Range.

The Appointment Block by Range Criteria consists of a date range calendar, provider, location, days of the week, time range, action (block or unblock), and a message. As an example, Dr. Test would like a lunch period blocked out from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for the remainder of 2017. To block this time by range, the Appointment Block by Range Criteria would resemble the screen-shot below:

You will see the following as the system evaluates the schedule to add the requested block by range. Make sure that you wait for the process to complete before selecting “Quit” to exit.

If the provider decides that there will be no lunch period, repeat these above steps, and select “unblock” as the Action.
