Important Update Regarding Diagnosis Usage For New HCFA-1500 02-12 and 5010 837P Electronic Claim Submissions

DuxWare has been updated to allow submission of up to twelve diagnosis codes per encounter without the pointer restrictions
that were previously in place. At the service line level, the user must point to at least one code listed for the encounter. The same rule
applies to the new HCFA 1500 02-12.

Please note that it is the responsibility of the clinical and billing staff to ensure that all diagnoses billed with the claim are documented properly as part of the patient's record.

The illustration below provides an example claim from the Claim Manager with one service line that has 12 diagnosis codes.
